Gertrude Q. Baros

Gertrude Q. Baros (Grandma B)    Born to Jose Dolores and Benita Sanchez Quintana in Santa Cruz, NM on November 15, 1921.   Preceded in death by her Loving husband, Lalo N. Baros, grandson- B.J. Baros, Son-in-law Raymond M. Chavez and  Manuel J. Trujillo. Brothers: Ricardo (Dennie) and Marcelino (Berlina) Quintana. Sisters: Mela (Pete) Velarde and Jean (Joe) Rodriquez and many other beloved relatives.   She is survived by her children that cared very deeply for her: Patsy B. Chavez, Bobby (Theresa) Baros, Eddie Baros, Cindy (Ronnie) Jimenez. Her Grandchildren: Claudette (Mike) her children: Dante, Santos, Ava & Gianna; Ambrose (Cinthya) his children: Jordyn, Nathaniel & Kaylani; Isidor (Yvette) his daughter Izabella; Mark Anthony Baros, Bobby Michael Baros and Ronald and Shantal Jimenez; as well as many nieces and nephews whom she loved very much and looked forward to seeing.    Gertrude was married to Lalo, the true love of her life. Together, they raised their four children; her primary job was to care for the home and family. She worked several jobs in retail (Hinkle) and as a cook (Holy Cross school and Lopez Senior center), yet her main focus was raising her kids, her grandkids, and eventually her great-grand children. She enjoyed cooking, telling funny stories, singing, and most of all just having fun.   Gertrude was a women of faith, a devout Catholic that loved her church of Santa Cruz de la Canada. She was an avid member of the choir, Seledora of the Sagrada Familia for 40 years, a member of the Carmelitas, and the Altar and Rosary Society for the church. Up until her death she watched the Mass daily, on EWTN  and prayed the Rosary with special intentions for her family.    She lived her 98 years of life to their fullest with her own special spunk, which we will all remember and greatly miss.   

Serving as Pallbearers: Ambros, Nathaniel, Mark Anthony, Isidor, Santos, and Ronnie. 

Honary Pallbearers: Bobby M. Baros, and Ronald Jimenez.

A veiwing will be held at Rivera Family Funeral Home Tuesday January 07, 2020 5:30PM-7:00PM

A roasry will be recited on Wednesday, January 8th 2020 at The Holy Cross Catholic Church de la Canada in Santa Cruz at 10AM a Mass of Christian burial will follow at 11AM.

 

Family will have a reception after the Mass. Location and time will be updated as information becomes available. 

 

Interment will take place on Thursday, January 09, 2019 at Santa Fe National Cemetary at 2:15PM
