Gilberto "Gibo" Anaya

It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the death of our beloved brother and uncle on October 28, 2022.

PRECEDED IN DEATH BY:

Parents John B. Juanita Anaya; Siblings Frank C. & David Anaya; Brother-in-law Ben Zamora; and Nephew Christopher Salazar.

SURVIVED BY:

Sisters Pauline Zamora, Margaret (Ray) Salazar; Brothers George (Joanne) Anaya, John (Helen) Anaya.

Sister-in-law Rose Anaya.

Nephews Benny (Evelyn), Lorenzo (Sandi), Danny & Frank Zamora; George Jr. (Trish), Michael (Alyssa), David Jr., Phil, Jesus (Sarah)& John Patrick Anaya; Ray Jr. (Bern) Salazar.

Nieces Michelle Rodriguez (Donald), Juanita Lopez (Ben), & Jessica Stansen (Nils).

Goddaughter Samantha Salazar.  Lisa Dofflemyer & Tanya Vigil who he fondly called his daughters and numerous relatives and friends.

 OTHER HISTORY: 

Gilbert was a lifetime member of Cristo Rey Parish and served as Eucharistic Minister for many years.

He was a proud lifelong member of the La Union Protectiva de Santa Fe. 

He was employed by Walton Chapman Builders and retired after 30 years as a Finish Carpenter.

He was most proud of his title of Campaign Manager during his nephew, George Jr’s judicial career.  He just brimmed with pride when he was introduced as such.

A thank you To Dr. Patrick Samora, Dr.Timothy Villinga, Dr. Joshua Carothers and Christus Hospital 2nd floor staff, and Bear Canyon Rehab Center for the great care provided to our beloved brother. 

An extra special thanks to Yvonne Trujillo for being such a good neighbor and caretaker.

Services will be held on December 1, 2022.  Rosary to be recited at 10:00 am at Cristo Rey Church, 1120 Canyon Road, Santa Fe, New Mexico.  Funeral Mass will follow at 11:00 am.  Burial at 12:30 at Rosario Cemetery with a reception to follow at Vineyard Christian Fellowship, Santa Fe (at the intersection of Monterey Drive and Baca Street off Cerrillos Road).
