Gilbert J. Garcia passed away April 30, 2017. He was born in Madrid N.M. on May 25. Gilbert was preceded in death by his parents Santiago, Ramona Garcia and son Dale Garcia. He is survived by his wife Margie Garcia, sons Jeff Garcia (Terceilla) , Jimmy Garcia, Joedy (Adelina) Garcia, Gilbert Jr. Garcia (Irene), daughters Deborah Montoya (Ted) and Patricia Anzures (Louie), granddaughters Melanie Rodriguez (Joe), Nicole Romero (Chris) and Britney Garcia, and grandsons John Montoya (Bernice), Joshua Anzures (Danielle) Dominic Anzures and Aaron Garcia. He will be missed by his siblings, brothers Ernest Garcia, Robert Garcia and sisters Frances Lopez and Suzie Trujillo, and many nieces and nephews. He loved to bake. He sure enjoyed his sweets. His family was his world. He enjoyed seeing his grandchildren play sports and of course, he was a Dallas Cowboys fan. His hobby was working on his antique car. He loved visiting his family Gilbert worked for the State of N.M. at the State Highway Department District 5 for 33 years. He was employed at K-Mart in the garden center. He loved working with the public and meeting new friends. He had a big heart. He was a very hard worker and would help anyone. He enjoyed dancing at family functions. Visitation for Gilbert will be May 4, 2017 at the Kiva Chapel of Light from 4:00-6:00pm. (Rivera Family Funeral Home, 417 East Rodeo Road, Santa Fe, NM) A rosary will be recited following the visitation, from 6:00-7:00pm. The mass will be held the next day, May 5, 2017 at St. John's the Baptist Catholic Church at 9:00am (1301 Osage Ave, Santa Fe, NM) The burial will follow at Memorial Gardens at Rivera Family Funeral Home. Please join the family after mass for a reception at noon at the Fraternal Order of Eagles (833 Early Street, Santa Fe NM 87505) The Pall Bearers are Rick Anaya and Ernect Garcia.
