Gilbert Ortega

Gilbert Ortega, of Tesuque, age 70, passed away September 14, 2024. Gilbert was born August 6, 1954, in Santa Fe, New Mexico to the late Charlie and Celine (Rivera) Ortega. He is also preceded in death by his son, Justin Ortega and brother-in-law, Shaun Murray. Gilbert ran his own plumbing business. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren, as well as Harley and Osito, his pups.

Gilbert is survived by his partner of over 30 years, Gloria Lujan; son, Diego Ortega; step-children, Felicia (Mike), Thomas (Alicia), and Laura (Charles) Lujan; siblings, Margaret Murray (Mike Lara) and Charline Speck (Bill); grandchildren, Isaiah (Daveigh), Daryn, Tommy, and Ryan; great grandchildren, Lucina and Reign; nieces and nephews, Amy (Lucas), Patty, Karli (Angelo);  great nieces, Ella, Layla, Alondra, Arianah and many extended family members and friends.

A public gathering will be held October 10 from 11 am to 12 noon at Rivera Family Funeral Home, 417 East Rodeo Road, Santa Fe. The Service will follow at 12 noon.
