Gilbert Rodriguez, age: 90, resident of Santa Fe, New Mexico passed away on January 14, 2021 due to a lengthy illness. He was born on May 17, 1930 in Puerta de Luna, NM to Francisquita and Teodocio Rodriguez.
Gilbert was preceded in death by his parents: Teodocio and Francisquita Rodriguez, brother and wife Teodocio and Pancha Rodriguez, sisters: Tillie Garcia and Agatha Lovato, granddaughter Laura Rivera and great grandson Alex Rivera.
He is survived by his wife of 36 years Frances J. Armijo Rodriguez, daughter and spouse Dolores and Frank Martinez, daughter Frances Rodriguez, Patsy and Sam Martinez, son and spouse Gilbert (Ted) Jr. and Marcella Rodriguez, sisters Victoria Rodriguez and Maxine Chavez, 10 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren, sister in-law Bernadette M. Armijo, brother–in-law and sister-in-law Michael and Pat Armijo, niece-in-law and brother-in-law Lisa and Millan Zorita and great niece-in-law Catalina Zorita and numerous nieces and nephews.
Gilbert was Honorably discharged from the Army as a CPL-T on March 7, 1953.
He was a member of the F.O.P., Fraternal Order of Eagles and Moose Lodge.
Gilbert enjoyed wood carving in his home shop. He either sold his hand carvings, gave them as gifts or donated them to various causes. He also enjoyed designing, and creating furniture for his wife and family.
Wife, Frances and family are grateful to all who have expressed condolences, attended services and said prayers for Gilbert.

Services are being handled by Rivera Family Funeral Home in Santa Fe, NM.
A Rosary will be recited on Wednesday, January 27, 2021 from 2:00-5:00 p.m. by Chaplain Villegas and eulogy by Karie Martinez with Zoom capability, at Rivera Kiva Chapel of Light located at 417 E Rodeo Road. (Zoom link/address can be found at the bottom of the page.)
Another Rosary will be recited by Deacon Mike Salazar before Mass on Thursday, January 28, 2021 at 9:45 am at San Isidro Catholic Church located at 3552 Agua Fria, Santa Fe, NM.
The Mass of Christian Burial by Pastor John Cannon follows at San Isidro Catholic Church on Thursday, January 28, 2021 at 10:00 a.m.
Interment with prayers by Deacon Mike Salazar and military honors at the Santa Fe National Cemetery on Thursday, January 28, 2021 at 11:15 a.m. (ONLY 5 people allowed to attend services at National Cemetery.)
Due to COVID no reception will follow any of Gilbert’s services.
