Gloria Ann Mondragon

Gloria Ann Mondragon, age 65 of Rio Chama died peacefully on February 15, 2010 in Espanola. She was employed by the Santa Fe adult parole board for several years and also with The Department of Energy. She was proud of a plaque that she had personally received from Governor Bruce King. Before her illness Gloria loved dancing, reading and spending time with friends and her special nephews & nieces. She will be missed by her family. She was born on March 17, 1943 to Maclovio and Floripa Mondragon of Rio Chama. She was preceded in death by her parents as well as her companion Pete Vigil, brothers Alex, Larry and eldest brother Gilbert Mondragon, sister in laws Rosie and Naida, niece Josie and nephew Nick Mondragon, Jr. She is survived by her only sister Virginia Pacheco, brothers Ted Mondragon of Arkansas, Albert Mondragon and wife Cathy, Eloy Mondragon, Rudy Mondragon and wife Margie, Roman Mondragon and wife Pilar-all of Espanola, Godchildren Patricia Winn, Francela Montoya and Debbie Sandoval, and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She is also survived by her special friend Mary Gurule and a special young lady she used to babysit for many years; Maria Padilla and cousin Sedelia Jaramillo who resided at the same nursing home and would keep her company. Recitation of the rosary will be held on Thursday at 7:00 p.m. in the chapel at Rivera Family Funeral Home. The mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Friday at 10:30 a.m. at San Jose Catholic Church in Hernandez. Interment will follow at Sacred Heart Church cemetery in Espanola.
