Gloria Martinez

Gloria Martinez left this world in the arms of angels on Wednesday, June 29, 2016. She was surrounded by her loving family. Born in 1940 to Elizardo & Sarita Sanchez, Gloria grew up in Ojo Sarco, NM. She had fond memories spending time with the love of her life, Noberto. They married in 1959 in Truchas, NM. She had many fond memories fishing, going to the casino, and traveling. Gloria retired from years of dedicated service to the children of Santa Fe Public Schools as a food service worker. Gloria is with our Lord in Heaven and her son Vincent Martinez, and her son-in-law Ron Valencia Sr. She is also welcomed in heaven with open arms by her parents, brothers, and sisters. Gloria is survived by her husband, Noberto Martinez, sister, Flora Mascarenas, three daughters, Lenora (Bill) Schmidt, Sarah (Kevin) Austin, and Felicia Valencia. She loved the smiles and hugs of her eleven grandchildren, and nine great grandchildren. Gloria also had a very special place in her heart for her nieces and nephews who will always remember her. She was blessed with the love of a very large family and many friends who will miss her dearly. May she rest in peace. Pallbearers are Godchildren, Ronnie Valencia and Charlene Valdez. A Rosary will be recited11:00 a.m. followed by Mass at 12:00pm Thursday, July 7, 2016 at San Isidro Catholic Church, 3552 Agua Fria Street Santa Fe, NM 87507 Burial will be at the Santa Fe National Cemetery Monday, July 11, 2016 12:30 p.m.
