Glorinda Quintana, 76, was welcomed with love and light into the kingdom of heaven on July 30, 2024. She was born in Cañon de Trementina on June 14, 1948, grew up in Las Vegas, and spent the last few decades at home in Pecos. Glorinda is survived by her husband of 35 years, Max Quintana, her daughter Kris Varela (Tim), son Daniel Hoogerhuies (April), daughter Grace Vigil, granddaughters Candace Sanchez (Orlando), Kaeli Varela (Sean), Leiann Herrera, Maile Hoogerhuies, grandsons Marcos Herrera (Lenette), JD Hoogerhuies, and Jeremy Hoogerhuies, special great-granddaughter Kaia Sanchez, great-grandsons Khasen Varela and Keoni Sanchez, and numerous siblings, nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends.
Glorinda was a very special woman who dedicated her life to caring for others in any capacity she could provide. She left a small part of herself with anyone who was lucky enough to cross her path. There was no such thing as doing wrong in her eyes, and there was never a shortage of kind words or a listening ear. Our matriarch is deeply missed, and nothing can ever fill the space she has left behind.
A viewing and rosary will be held in Santa Fe at Rivera Family Funeral Home at 5:00pm on August 6th, 2024. The funeral mass will be held in Las Vegas at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church at 9:00am on August 7th, with a celebration of life meal to follow. The funeral procession will return to the Santa Fe National cemetery at 2:30pm on the same day to lay Glorinda in her final resting place where she will eventually be joined by her husband.
