Gonzalo C. Macias

Mr. Gonzalo Cobos Macias, age 87, of Santa Fe, NM died peacefully on Tuesday, August 19, 2014 in Santa Fe, He was born in Roswell, NM to the late Jesus Macias and Carmen Cobos. He retired from the State of New Mexico Highway Department as Forman, District IV of 32 years. He met and married his beloved wife Felice at the Santa Fe bus station. They were married 65 years and raised 10 children together. He will be dearly missed. He is survived by his dear children; Joel Macias, and wife Charlene of Oceanside, CA. Arlene Erives and husband Elier of Moriarty, NM. Luis Macias, Helen Anaya and husband John of Albuquerque, NM, Gus Macias and wife Shirley, Dorothy Martinez, Tammy Martinez and husband Tim, Ivan Macias and wife Gladis, Theresa Macias, Javier Macias, adopted son Manuel Macias all of Santa Fe, NM, siblings, Consuelo Gonzales, Janet Soto and Martha Macias; over 150 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren, and great great-grandchildren. A public visitation took place on Monday, August 25, 2014, recitation of the rosary followed at St. Annes Catholic Church in Santa Fe, NM. Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Tuesday, August 26, 2014, at the same church, with interment followed at the Santa Fe National Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were Joe Macias, Javier Macias, Luis Angel Macias, Manuel Macias, Johnny Quintana, Ivan Macias Jr. with Jesus Anaya as an honorary pallbearer.
