Grace Orlinda Nuanes

Grace Orlinda Nuanes, age 77, of Santa Fe, NM, passed away peacefully on Wednesday November 18, 2015 surrounded by her loving family. She bravely battled Alzheimer’s for 10 years. She was born in Cundiyo, NM, reared by a loving mother and lived most of her life in Santa Fe, NM. Her family descended from the earliest Spanish settlers to Nuevo Espana in 1611. She was a proud graduate of the Loretto Academy and was employed for over 25 years at the New Mexico National Guard in the personnel office where she made many long lasting friendships. Grace was preceded in death by her Mother Luisita Cordova; siblings Amadita (Molly) Wheeler, Pete Cordova, Mary Cordova, children Paul (Tony) Nuanes, Tom Nuanes, Steve Nuanes, and Steve Moya; and son-in-law Lani Kahawai. Grace is survived by her loving husband of 45 years, Paul Nuanes; siblings Deluvina (Della) Roybal, Reynaldo Cordova, Medardo Vigil and sister- in-law Virginia Saavedra; daughter, Debbie Kahawai; sons, Anthony Moya and wife Patricia, Richard Nuanes, Arnold Moya, Stanley Moya and wife Priscilla and Andrew Nuanes and wife Marina; daughters-in-law Sylvia, Anna, Lori; grandchildren, Marquita, Arnold Jr., Anthony, Paul, April, Nicole, Beau, Janelle, Rachel, Ashley, Amanda, Megan, Brett, Kayla, ReyAnn, Cruz, Jordan, Danielle, Gracie and Ariana; and 26 great grandchildren. She also leaves behind many other family members and friends who loved her dearly. Visitation and rosary will be held on Tuesday, November 24th, 2015 at 6:00pm with Services held on Wednesday, November 25th, 2015 at 11:00am at Santa Maria de la Paz Catholic Church located at 11 College Dr, Santa Fe, NM. Burial at the National Cemetery followed by a reception located at the Santa Fe FOP located at 3300 Calle Maria Luisa, Santa Fe, NM.
