In his later years, he enjoyed passing the time by going to the Casinos.

He was a very family-oriented man and always had a love for animals. He never failed to make time for his family, for he loved spending all the time that he could with them. He married Loretta in 1969 and from there they went on to open a restaurant in Espanola, and later another in Colorado where they were well known for their amazing food and hospitality.
