Gustavo Gonzales

Gustavo “Gus” Gonzales Jr. age 72 of Santa Fe NM passed away peacefully in his home on Sunday November 20, 2022 family by his side after a battle lost with cancer. Gus was born August 5, 1950 a graduate of St. Mikes Highschool a proud Vietnam Veteran whom served honorable in the US Army. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, and friend to many. He was always known to light up a room with his smile, his laugh and jokes. He made the best of even the darkest of times and held strong to his faith. A best friend to his great grandchildren, a chef in the kitchen, a loving and helping hand to all. He is loved by many and will be greatly missed as he rests with our lord until we meet again. He is preceded in death by his loving wife Anna Gonzales, mother Maida Gonzales, father Gustavo Gonzales, bothers Robert A Gonzales and Eugene P. Gonzales. He is survived by daughter Shawna Gonzales. Grandchildren Ashley Gonzales (Andy), Tamara Valencia (Marcus), Sebastian Valencia (Amanda). Great grandchildren Marcus Madrid Jr. Mikayla Madrid, Josiah Martinez, Zayla Martinez. Brothers Max Gonzales (Julie) Alfred Gonzales (Rose) and sister Marilyn Hart (Michael).

The family wishes to give a special thank you to cousins Gus Baros, Terri Baros, and friend David Griego as well as Paul and Nicole of Rivera’s.

A viewing for final goodbyes will be held at Rivera’s on Saturday the 10th at 4pm with Rosary to follow at 5pm. Services will be held at Santa Maria De La Paz Catholic Church on Monday the 12th at 10:30am wake to follow burial at Elk’s Lodge.
