Harold Lynn Loyd died peacefully on October 11, 2005 after suffering a massive stroke. He is survived by his wife Susanne Thomson Loyd, sister Peggy Fuston, five children Robin Loyd Schwalb, Thomas E. Loyd, Phillip C. Loyd, Alexandra Loyd Knight & Ian T. Loyd, grandchild Matthew Kellogg, and an extensive group of close and cherished friends. Harold was born in DeKalb, Texas in 1932 and graduated Phi Kappa Phi with a Masters Degree in Engineering from Texas A&M University. He was Senior Vice President and partner of Turner, Collie & Braden in Houston, Texas until 1991 and received multiple honors for his work and chaired multiple committees for ASCE, ACEC, EJCDC & CECT including the Houston Chamber of Commerce from 1978 to 1989. He and Susanne moved to Taos, New Mexico in 1997 where he was a parishioner of St. James Episcopal Church. He will be remembered as a kind and gentle husband, father and friend who loved learning, reading and traveling. A Celebration of Life was held on Friday, October 14th, 2005 at the San Francisco de Asis Church in Ranchos de Taos, NM.
