Helen Aruffo

Helen Joyce Aruffo, 92, of Santa Fe, NM peacefully went home to The Lord on Sept. 5th, 2022. Helen was born on Jan. 19, 1930, in Philadelphia County, PA. She obtained her Executive MBA from the University of New Haven and was a Human Resources specialist for The Singer Company in NJ, at 30 Rockefeller Plaza in NYC and in CT, plus McNeill Medical Products (J&J) in PA. Since retirement she had lived in St. Petersburg Florida, Annapolis MD, Wilmington NC, Spanish Fort AL, and Santa Fe NM.

Helen loved to travel and became an avid sailor in her fifties. She made great friends at The Philadelphia Sailing Club and sailed the Eastern US plus many exotic destinations such as The Caribbean, Fiji, Tahiti, Greece, Turkey, Australia. She was an active volunteer for years at Daystar Life Center in St. Pete, FL helping individuals and families in need. Helen was smart, cherished her family, loved reading, music and art, had a great sense of humor, cared deeply for others, and relied upon and shared her strong Faith.

Helen is survived by her children Holly Dunn (Bill), Amy Spaeth (Tony), Jennifer Stiles (Mike); daughter-in-law Marie Aruffo; Grandchildren Jessica (Dunn) Canipe, Matthew Aruffo, Meghan Aruffo, Jennifer (Spaeth) Pattison (Nick), T.J. Spaeth, Kristen (Spaeth) Sutton (Adam), Daniel Spaeth (Alexandra), Lauren Stiles; Great-Grandchildren Taylor Canipe, William Pattison, Grayson Pattison; lifelong family and friends - Roy and Nancy Aruffo; and nieces and nephews. Helen was preceded in death by her son Thomas John “TJ” Aruffo, sister Carolyn Poole, brother Edgar Leidy, parents Helen and Joseph Joyce, and other close relatives.
