Helen Gonzales Herrera

Helen Gloria Gonzales Herrera, age 61, from Espanola, NM as well as Gallina, NM passed away peacefully on Monday, November 1, 2021.

Helen is preceded in death by both parents, Jose Orlando and Erlinda Jaquez, daughter Jessica Marie Gonzales, mother and father in law Lucy and Toby Gonzales, nieces Gloria S. Padilla, Patricia Cordova, sisters Barbara, Mary, and Doris Herrera, brothers Raymond and Joe Herrera, brothers in law Johnny Gonzales from Espanola, NM, and Johnny Gonzales from Galina, NM, Gilbert Gonzales, Ralph Duran, Howard Gurule, Lawrence Carajabal, and Jolene Gurule.

Helen is survived by her husband of forty years and father of her four daughters, Peter Gonzales, daughters Melissa Herrera and spouse Tito Maestas, Roxanne Gonzales and spouse Jose Lucero, and Barbara Gonzales. A very beautiful and special grandson Isaiah Nicholas Maestas, who she loved and helped daughter Melissa raise, her sister who loved and helped her out with a lot, Theresa Trujillo and husband David Trujillo. Her nephew Eric Joseph Herrera, who she adored and baptized, Erlinda, who she also baptized, and husband Freddy along with their kids, Amanda Gonzales and spouse Robert Morales, Joshua, Maliki, Richie, Alia, Darlene, John James, Miguel Lujan, Leslie Gonzales, In Laws Jessie Schmitt, Maryrose, Cordy, Lucille, Shirley, Bertha Gonzales, Joe Gonzales, and Mary Rose. A very special niece Veronica Cordova and son, Cassidy Arellano, Michael Gonzales and kids, John, Roberta, Esperanza and many more relatives and friends.

Helen was a wonderful mother, aunt, sister, daughter, and wife. She loved to cook tortillas and sopapillas. She loved to clean and was a beautiful person to everyone she knew. She is going to be dearly missed by all of her family, especially her husband, Peter, her daughters, and her special only grandson Isaiah.

Pallbearers are Eric Herrera, Miguel Lujan, John James Gonzales, Max and Lee Padilla, Miguel Lujan Sr., Michael Gonzales

Honorary Pallbearers are Isaiah, Maliki, Richie, Maxine and Heavenly Padilla and Alia Martinez.

May Helen rest in Peace and be with her daughter Jessica Gonzales, Who she really missed.

The family of Helen would like to thank the Espanola Hospital for her care there. To the El Buen Pastor Church, where she enjoyed to go, and to Pastor Danny and family. Thank you to all the people who helped her family, and to all who donated for these services.
