Final Transition of: Helen P. Casados passed away on December 30, 2013. Helen was born on August 18, 1934 to Jose Eugenio Maestas and Adelina Archuleta. On September 11, 1949, she married Pablo S. Casados Jr. of Los Ojos. She was preceded in death by her parents, her Brothers Issac, Eutimio and Marshall Maestas, her Sisters, Charlotte Gauthreaux, Ermelinda Salazar, Consuelo Garner, and her son Paul S. Casados III. Helen is survived by her husband of 64 years, Pablo S. Casados Jr., Daughters Vandora P. Casados of Llaves, Josephine Gonzales and husband Richard of Bloomfield, three Sons, Edward and Joe Casados of Llaves, Jeff Casados and wife Nancy of Aztec, her Brother, Benigno Maestas and wife Ida of Albuquerque, 14 Grandchildren and 19 Great Grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews. Helen will always be remembered by her generous hospitality, her authentic cooking techniques that are hard to beat. Helen enjoyed reading her Bible, She enjoyed gardening, canning and sewing. Helen was employed with the US Forest Service at the Deadmans Peak Lookout Tower, then she retired as a school bus driver with the Jemez Moutains Schools District. Helen battled with cancer since 1999, her final moments were with her family at her bedside. Helen stated that she loved happy endings and this will be a happy ending for me A Rosary service was held on Friday, January 3, 2014 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Gallina. The funeral mass was held on Saturday, January 4, 2014. Interment Services were held at the Family Cemetery in Llaves.
