Henry Richard Pacheco

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Henry Richard Pacheco, our beloved husband, father, and grandfather, who departed on Sunday, March 10, 2024.

Richard was loved and cherished by his family and friends. He is survived by his loving wife Emily; his son Jonathan, daughter-in-law Erica; his son Dennis, daughter-in-law Cassy, along with their families; son-in-law Anthony: his grandchildren, Emilie, Stephanie, Joaquin, and Harper; and his siblings, Leroy, Archie, and Maria.

Richard is preceded in death by his grandparents, Justo and Melinda Pacheco, and his beloved daughter, Judi Garduño-Gallegos. He is survived by numerous cherished aunts, cousins, nephews, nieces, as well as many friends and colleagues.

Born in Las Vegas, New Mexico, Richard graduated from West Las Vegas High School. After graduation, he enlisted in the United States Navy, serving as an Aviation Boatswain’s Mate aboard the USS Kitty Hawk CV-63 aircraft carrier. Following his naval service, Richard devoted over 39 years to his profession as a registered nurse, retiring from Christus St. Vincent Hospital in July of 2023.

Richard found joy in fishing, landscaping, venturing out in his RV, traveling, and most importantly, spending time with his dogs, family, and grandchildren. His family was his world, and he was special to so many. We will deeply miss him, and his memory will live on forever in our hearts.

A mass in celebration of Richard’s life will be held on April 1, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Anne Catholic Parish (511 Alicia Street, Santa Fe, NM), followed by a burial at 12:30 p.m. at Santa Fe National Cemetery (501 N Guadalupe St., Santa Fe, NM).
