Herman C. Griego

Herman C. Griego, age 85, passed away on May 11, 2017 from a brief illness. He was born in San Jose, NM on September 8, 1931 to Frank and Bertha Griego. Married the love of his life, Ida Griego, on January 1, 1951 and lived in Santa Fe, NM. He is preceded in death by his parents, brother Steven Griego and many brother and sister in laws. He is survived by his Daughters Roseanne Sena (Eddie) and Diana Vigil (John), Sons Martin and Robert Griego (Rosie), grandsons, Tommy Martinez (Cathy), Joe Sena, Derek Vigil (Melinda), Connor and Austin Griego, his granddaughters Tina Olivas (Levi), Angela Sena, Deidre Martinez, Janelle Rodriguez (Alfredo), Diane Sena (Daniel), Sydney Marable (Charley),Great grandsons Tommy and Troy Martinez, Josh Sena, Shawn Olivas, D’Marcus, Nathaniel and Dominic Rodriguez, and Ethan Aragon, and Great granddaughters Jazmyn Griego, Isabella Sena, Maliyah Vigil, Aaliyah Olivas and Reiley Vigil, Brother Roger Griego (Ginger), Sisters Luisa Penner (Brice) and Sophie Apodaca (Richard), and many special nieces and nephews. He was in the US Navy and retired from the U.S. Postal Service. Visitation will be Wednesday, May 17th from 5:00-7:00 pm followed by a Rosary and wake service held at Rivera’s Kiva Chapel of Light. Mass will be at St. Anne’s Parish on Thursday, May 18th at 10:00am with burial to follow at the Santa Fe National Cemetery at 11:15am. The Pallbearers are Derek Vigil, Troy Martinez, Tommy Martinez, Josh Sena, Shawn Olivas, Connor Griego, Joe Sena, and Alfredo Rodriguez. The Honorary Pallbearers are Austin Griego, D’Marcus Rodriguez, Nathaniel Rodriguez, Dominic Rodriguez, Maliyah Vigil, Aaliyah Olivas, Melinda Vigil and Ethan Aragon. He will be truly missed and forever in our hearts.
