Herman Goad

Herman G. Goad, age 78 of Ojo Caliente, NM passed away on Saturday, April 1, 2017 in Albuquerque, NM. Herman was born on February 22, 1939 in Abiqui, NM to his parents of happy memory, George Washington Goad and Velvia Mae Goad. Herman attended Espanola Valley High School where he played football and basketball. Herman loved farming, the outdoors and enjoyed traveling and had recently made his way to Yellowstone National Park with his family. Herman loved his canine pets, Wiley, Smores, Maverick and Lucy and they loved Herman. Herman was preceded in death by his wife Emily Goad who passed away on June 6, 2007; sisters, Ersie Mae Goad, Martha Lou Toole and Alice Ruth Smith; brothers, Harold Ray Goad and Wesley Glenn Goad; and nephew, Robert Lee Goad. Herman is survived by his daughters, Emily Margaret Goad and her companion, Davin Benally and Margaret Ersie Mae Goad; a niece, Mary Lou Goad; close friends Larry Reese of Missouri and Sophie Benally and family of Santo Domingo, NM. Visitation will held this Thursday, April 6, 2017 from 3-9PM at the Rivera Family Funeral Home of Espanola where a Rosary will be prayed at 7PM. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, April 7, 2017, 10:00 AM at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Ojo Caliente, NM followed by burial at the Ojo Caliente Cemetery, Ojo Caliente, NM.
