Herman Gomez

HERMAN GOMEZ passed away peacefully on the 23rd day of January, 2023, at the age of 87. Herman was surrounded by his family, immersed in love, tenderness and compassion! Herman was preceded in death by his father Felipe Gomez and mother Teofila Gomez, his niece Natalie Gomez and nephew MichaelAngelo Alvarado. He is survived by his children James, Yvonne, Deedee, Mark, Karla, Carla and Danny. Surviving him also are his dear sister Lucille Alvarado and brothers Philip (Louie) Gomez and Filadelfio (Phil) Gomez. Also surviving him are his nieces Lori LaLonde, Louise Gomez and Angela Salazar. His nephews Mike Alvarado, Eddie Gomez, David Gomez and Andrew Gomez and many other great nieces and nephews, and grandchildren and great grandchildren. Herman was in the automotive business for 40+ years and was voted ‘BEST’ Salesman of the year for most of his career. He was awarded many Caribbean cruises in recognition of his achievements. He built lasting friendships with many of his customers. He was an avid sports fan, fond of his cars, generous to all, and enjoyed his retirement days in his backyard entertaining family and friends. Herman was a lover of his dear beloved pets Loretto, Thunder and Lightning, and he always tended to and without fail, fed the homeless, including the stray cats and dogs. Herman loved music. He played his guitar and sang. His first band, ‘Western Rhythm Masters’ was well known in the area. Special acknowledgment and much gratitude to both Lori and Mark LaLonde for their loving kindness, selfless love and care they bestowed upon Herman during his most difficult times. Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, February 9th at 6:00 pm in the Kiva Chapel at Rivera’s funeral home. A Mass will be held the following day, Friday, February 10th at 9:30am at Santa Maria de la Paz church. Following the mass is Herman’s burial at the Rosario Cemetery. Pallbearers: Andrew Gomez, Añdres Alvarado, Eddie Gomez, Mark LaLonde, Jacob Gomez and David Gomez.
