Herminio G. Padilla, Sr. age 73 of Espanola died peacefully at home after a lengthy illness on Thursday July 24, 2008. He was a veteran of the United States Navy during the Korean era, and was a carpenter by trade. He was preceded in death by his parents Jose Eugenio and Francisquita Padilla, mother in law Helen Jimenez and husband Benny, father in law Hernando Gonzales, six brothers and one sister, four sisters in law and one brother in law. He is survived by his dear wife of 53 years Arlene Padilla, children: Gene Padilla of Espanola, Phillip Padilla and wife Judy of Espanola, Bernie Padilla and wife Pamela of Chamita, Herminio Padilla, Jr. and wife Esther of Espanola, Karla Padilla-Zamora and husband Matthew of Tucson, AZ., mother in law Grace Gonzales of Hernandez, Brother Gilbert Padilla and wife Beatrice of California, sisters in law: Alice Padilla and Cecilia Padilla of Albuquerque, Nena Sisneros and husband Gilbert of Rio Rancho, Mary Agnes Jaramillo and husband Johnny of Abiquiu, and Margaret Gonzales of Medanales, brothers in law: Leo Herrera of Albuquerque, Jose H. Gonzales and wife Jean of Florida, Bobby Gonzales of La Mesilla, Mario Jimenez and Rose of Tesuque, Willie Gonzales and wife Dolores of Espanola, Toby Gonzales of Hernandez, Casey Gonzales and wife Karen of Velarde, fourteen grandchildren and six great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and other relatives. An evening prayer service will be held on Monday July 28th at 7:00 pm at El Buen Pastor Church on Rivera Ln. in Espanola, The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday at San Jose Catholic Church in Hernandez at 11:00 am. Interment will take place at The Santa Fe National Cemetery on Tuesday at 1:30 pm with military honors provided by the Disabled American Veterans chapter 15. Assisting the family as Pallbearers will be Anthony Padilla, Marshal Padilla, Fabian Padilla, Phillip Padilla Jr., Brandon Padilla, Joshua Padilla, Ryan Zamora, Willie Martinez and Ray Padilla, Honorary Pallbearers will include Brittany Padilla, Briana Padilla, Tara Atencio, Vanessa Kitchens, Amanda C.
