Homer E. Cunningham

Homer E. Cunningham, loving husband, father and brother, passed away in Belen, New Mexico on April 1st, 2021. He is survived by his wife, Genara Cunningham and, six children- Linda Wright, Stephen Cunningham, Laura Cunningham Hilbig, Teresa Cunningham Neubauer, Mary Vilicich, and Michael Cunningham. He had three grandchildren (Shannon, Daniel and Erin Wright) and six greatgrandchildren. Homer has two remaining siblings, Sharon Klain and Billy Cunningham. During the depression, Homer’s parents moved the family from Oklahoma to California, eventually settling in San Diego. Homer was a veteran having joined the Army Air Corps at 18 years of age in 1945, he served on the American Victory ship. After leaving the military, Homer met Genara in Chula Vista and married in 1948; they were married for 72 years. They moved to Belen, New Mexico in 1977, close to Genara’s family, and after retirement, traveled and saw the world together. Homer will be missed by many family and friends. A Rosary will be recited on Friday, April 16, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Anne’s Catholic Parish followed by Funeral at 11:00 a.m.

Private interment will take place on Tuesday, April 20, 2021 at 10:30 a.m. at Santa Fe National Cemetery.
