It is with great sadness and a heavy heart that the family of Ida Pacheco, announce her passing on Tuesday, April 30, 2024, at her home in Bernalillo, New Mexico, surrounded by her loving family. She was 96-years-old, and was born on October 22, 1927, in Monte Aplanado (Mora County) to the late Ricardo and Rafelita Gonzales. Ida was a resident of Mora, New Mexico until she relocated to Bernalillo, in 2010.

Ida was the proud mother of 14 children and is survived by daughters: Flora Romero (Cornelio), Viola Montano (Victor), Delia Lujan, (partner Robert Napier), Patricia Turley (Michael), Lorraine Pacheco, Wanda Vigil, Diane Padilla (Robert), and Velma Rodriguez (Frank). Sons: William Pacheco (Theresa), Tom Pacheco, and Michael Pacheco, all residents of New Mexico, and brother Louie Pandula and spouse, Ryoka, of Lovell, Wyoming.

She is also survived by 29 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Ida was predeceased by her husband, Jose Maria Pacheco, sons: Robert and Melvin Pacheco, infant child, Rafelito Pacheco and great-great-granddaughter, Chantal Chavez Montano. Sisters: Olaida Sandoval and Mary Garcia from Rawlins, Wyoming and Dulcinea Balles from Pueblo, Colorado.

During her lifetime, our beloved Mother worked tirelessly as a homemaker and made time for everyone – always welcoming family and friends into her home. She enjoyed crocheting, embroidering, quilting, gardening, and was forever cooking endless meals for all her babies. The heavenly aroma of her freshly baked bread wafted throughout our kitchen.  Her made-from-scratch golden pancakes were beyond delicious and we enjoyed them on a weekly basis. Our Mother will forever be loved and deeply missed. May her soul rest in eternal peace in our Kingdom of Heaven and may she continue to sing her favorite song, “Flor de Las Flores,” to all the angels surrounding her. Thank you, Mother – for giving us our existence and for all your love and encouragement! ¡Descanse en paz y que Dios la bendiga! Until we meet again!
