Irene Ortiz

November 18th, 2024 Irene Florinda Bustos Ortiz passed away peacefully surrounded by family at her home. Born October 16th 1946, Irene worked for the City of Santa Fe in records for the Police Department. She retired and became "Nina" to all of her family's children. Babysitting her nieces, nephews and later her Grandchild was one of her greatest joys. With a beautiful heart and kind spirit, Irene lit up any room whenever she walked in. Her gentle smile and her genuine love for family outweighed the fact that she wasn't much for words. Her greatest gift was that she listened and was there to support anyone in need with her angelic presence. Married to Leroy Ortiz for 57 years, they raised a family together starting with Matthew D Ortiz and six years later Mark J Ortiz was born. Her eldest son Matthew married his wife Denise M Ortiz and later had a son, Gabriel M Ortiz. Irene became a proud Grandmother for 17 years of her life. She is survived by a long list of family and friends who loved her very much and will continue to do so. She is proceeded in death by her Mother and Father Lena and Bennie Bustos, Abenicio and Nora Montoya, her sister Eleanor Chavez, Nephew and Niece Miguel and Felicia Gallegos. Leroy's parents Inez and Minnie Ortiz and Leroy's siblings Paul, Robert and Alice Ortiz - Gee and her children Pamela and Brian Roybal. We ask that flower arrangements be brought to the Rosery and Mass starting at 10:30 am Tuesday December 10th, 2024 at the Cristo Rey Church;1107 Cristo Rey St, Santa Fe, NM 87501.

Reception will be held at the same property after the mass in the gym followed by the burial at Santa Fe Memorial Gardens at 3pm 417 Rodeo Rd Santa Fe NM, 87505.
