Irma Cobert Thaler age 93 of New Mexico passed away January 8, 2016 of natural causes. Irma was born April 13, 1922 in New York City to Gussie Jettleson and Max Cobert . Irma married Ralph Thaler June 29, 1947 in New York, NY.
She is preceded in death by her husband Ralph Thaler and brother Milton Cobert. She is survived by her daughters Audrey de Chadenedes of San Francisco, CA, Nancy Thaler of Colorado Springs, CO and granddaughter Valerie de Chadenedes of San Francisco, CA.
Irma received a Fine Arts degree from Cooper Union and a degree in Occupational Therapy from the Philadelphia School of Occupational Therapy. She worked as an Occupational Therapist at the VA Hospital during WWII, and at United Cerebral Palsy of Queens, NY. Retired to Santa Fe in 1984, she loved the beautiful light and vibrant art community. She was lifelong painter of gorgeous landscapes. Irma was a beautiful, light-hearted, loving spirit and will be greatly missed.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 12, 2016 at the Santa Fe Memorial Gardens followed by a service and shiva at Congregation Beit Tikva.
