Isaac Romero

July 10, 1936 — May 28, 2022

Isaac Romero, passed away peacefully at his home May 28th, 2022 surrounded by his family. He was born to Maria and Roman Romero in Santa Fe, New Mexico on July 10, 1936. Isaac was preceeded in death by his parents, three Sisters Cordelia Romero, Loraine Lucero and Annabelle Valdez as well as Eric Romero his grandson and Jason Romero a great grandson. He is survived by Marcella Romero his wife of sixty four years, three sons, Isaac(Kristina), Edward(Deanna) and Phillip. He was blessed with nine grandchildren Jason, Alicia(Marcus Villarose) Erin(Marty Valdez), Nic, Robin, Charlotte, Eric(all Romero), Darrell and Billy(Ross), Celina, Esai and Nico(Valdez). Some of his best memories later in life was time spent visiting with his ten great children Charles Lucero, Mark and Lucas Villarose, Brooklyn Romero, Egypt Romero Renfroe, Theodore Romero-Elliott, Kelly, Jason and Diesel Romero.

Isaac grew up in Santa Fe where he graduated from Santa Fe High and the College of Santa Fe playing basketball in high school and baseball in College. He was an active member of the CSF Alumni Association and served in the National Guard. He worked as a grocer, managing the Safeway store downtown for 30 plus years and at the Department of Health for another 20. During that time he established many relationships that transcended the workplace many of whom have become parts of our extended family. He loved the Cabin in Cow Creek, Lobo Basketball, the Cowboys, being a Santero.

The family would like to thank his caregivers Patricia Baines, Ramona Hernandez and Alicia Romero as well as Eric Pena, Adeline Ulibarri and Corine Lovato for their friendship and support prior to and during this difficult time. 

Rosary services are scheduled for 6pm Sunday June 12 th at Rivera Funeral Home and Funeral services on Monday, June 13, 2022 at 11am at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church.
