Isabel C. Vigil Guera a resident of Chimayo, went to eternal life with her Lord and Savior and beloved husband Orlando Champ on October 5, 2014.
She was a devout Catholic and longtime Santuario Gift Shop employee and homemaker.
She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Orlando Champ. They were married for 46 glorious years. Also: parents, Enrique and Adelaida Salazar, brother Gilbert (Donnie dec.), sister Lucille Whitehead (Don dec.), in-laws Jose Manuel and Ildefonsa Vigil, brother-in-law Modesto Vigil (Roberta), nephews Gene Medina Jr. and Frank Bal. Emmanuel Medina, Ramona Salazar, Seledon Martinez, Robert Bal.
Isabel is survived by her children: David Vigil of Chimayo, Danny Vigil and partner Becky Cordova of Hernandez, Phyllis Quintana and husband Bobby of Sombrillo and Victor Vigil and wife Patsy of Chimayo. Grandchildren include: Alicia Leyba and husband Antonio, Linda Vigil and fiancé Dillon Tealer, Philip Quintana and fiancé Victoria Yazzie, Anna Fox and husband Justin Fox, Sara Vigil and partner Mario Max and Kevin Quintana. Great grandchildren are Destiny Quintana, Ethan Naranjo, Kasey Lyn Naranjo, Lila Fox, Xayden Quintana, Antonio Leyba and Noah Leyba and Baby Fox.
Other survivors include: very close sister Priscilla Medina of San Pedro, Henry and wife Viola Salazar of Corral de Piedra, sister, Marie Bernarde of Grand Rapids, Michigan, Helen Montoya and husband John of La Puebla, Tony Salazar of San Pedro, David Salazar and wife Helen of Corral de Piedra, and Richard Salazar and wife Mary of Cochiti Lake. Sisters-in-law Josephine Martinez of Chimayo, Elma Bal of Nambe, close friend Rose Vigil of Penasco, sister-in-law Loyola Salazar.
A public visitation and a rosary took place on Wednesday, October 8, 2014 at Holy Family Catholic Church in Chimayo. Mass of Christian Burial took place on Thursday, October 9, 2014 also at Holy Family Catholic Church in Chimayo. Interment took place at the Santa Fe National Cemetery on Friday, October 10, 2014.
Serving as pallbearers will be Alicia Leyba, Philip and Kevin Quintana, Linda and Sara Vigil, Dillon Tealer and Mario Max.
Honorary pallbearers will be Bobby Quintana, Becky Cordova, Victoria Yazzie and Sylvia Vigil, Anna and Justin Fox.
