Isauro Madrid

Isauro S. Madrid Sr. age 81 of La Mesilla passed away on June 14, 2022. Isauro Sr. was preceded in death by his parents, Agapito and Ana Maria Madrid, wife Mary Madrid, sister Orsinia Lopez, son Harry Madrid, daughter Molly Martinez, grandson David Madrid.

Isauro Sr. is survived by his sons Isauro Jr. (June) and Remigio (Roberta), sister Isabel War (Archie), brother Cruz Madrid (Mary), grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Isauro Sr. was born in Abiquiu on June 20, 1940 and lived there until he moved to Espanola to make a new life with his wife Mary. Soon they began creating their family and eventually shared 4 children.

Isauro Sr. served the Espanola Public Schools as a maintenance employee until he became ill and had to step down from his position. During his time of employment, he also worked in masonry. He enjoyed building rock walls, patios, and fireplaces. Isauro Sr. created beautiful weavings, like rugs, blankets, and coasters. He was well-respected by many who admired his work. As a young man he found joy in hunting, fishing, and camping. In his more recent years he formed friendships while enjoying his time at the casino where he found a new hobby playing keno.

Serving as pallbearers are his grandsons Jacob Madrid and Fidel Madrid.

Serving as honorary pallbearers are his granddaughters Veronica Martinez and Sheyenne Martinez, and great grandchildren Jade Madrid, Isaac Madrid, Abigail Martinez and Leila Martinez.

Services will be on Friday June 24, 2022 at Sacred Heart Church in Espanola, there will be a Rosary at 12:30 PM with Christian burial to follow immediately. The family is encouraging the use of masks.
