Ivar And Allene Lindstrom

On Monday, April 17, 2023, Ivar Lindstrom, passed away at the age of 93. Allene joined her husband in just 2 weeks time on Monday, May 1, 2023 at the age of 90.

In addition to their great love for each other, they are the loving parents of two children, three grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. 

Ivar was born in October of 1929 in Milligan, Nebraska to Ivar and Merrill Lindstrom. He married Allene Huffman in 1952 while attending the University of Oregon. He was awarded his PhD from the University of Oregon in 1958 and then moved to Los Alamos to work with the Labs. Allene worked at the laboratory as a data analyst for nearly 30 years. In addition, Allene was also a pilot instructor. Aviation is a big part of the Lindstrom's story.

Ivar and Allene raised their two children in Los Alamos, sharing a sense of adventure in skiing and camping around the Southwest. Ivar was a life long member of the Los Alamos Choral Society, Pajarito Ski Club, and Old-Timers Square Dance Club. He was a strong supporter of the Los Alamos Concert Association and enjoyed the concerts for many years as an important part of his love of music. In his later years, he was the bass singer of the barbershop quartet, Lads of Enchantment. (More to come about Allene's story as the family manages thier additional loss.) 

Ivar and Allene are survived by two daughters, Teri and Lori; Teri’s husband, Rex Molisani; two grandsons, Matthew and Jason; granddaughter, Allee; Matthew’s wife, Jessica; and great-granddaughter, Olivia.

Family is in the process of planning an event to honor both parents; including Ivars' wish for a pipe organ presentation in his memory. Updates will be posted here.
