Jacqueline M. Quintana-Valencia was born April 2, 1980. Our Heavenly Father called our dearest Jackie home on Sunday, February 2, 2020. She is survived by her husband Mark Valencia; daughter Samantha Quintana; son Patrick Quintana; parents Lawrence and Angelina Quintana; sister Amanda Quintana-Bowles; brother-in-law Jeffrey Bowles; her mother-in-law Sandra Valencia; brother-in-law Charles Valencia; sisters-in-law Mia and Rachel Valencia. She was preceded in death by her sister, Michelle Quintana; grandparents Sacramento (Jack) and Oralia (LaLa) Baca, Secundino and Susie Quintana; and Father-in-law Carlos Valencia Sr.
Jackie was a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend to all. She was bigger than life itself. She would light up a room the moment she entered it, full of life and laughter. Even though she lived a short life, she accomplished many things. At the young age of three she embarked on a musical career with her sister Amanda as the “Quintana Sisters”. She shared her beautiful voice and talent with people from all over the world, and was honored to serve as a musical ambassador for the city of Santa Fe, welcoming such dignitaries as the King and Queen of Spain. She sang, played requinto and flute. She received many musical awards including the 2009 Hilos Culturales – Traditional Folk Artist Award, in recognition of lifetime contributions to the Spanish Colonial Folk Music of Northern New Mexico and Southern Colorado.
She took great pride in representing Santa Fe and her Hispanic heritage through music, participating annually in the novenas, attending Fiesta events and by serving as a princess on the 2000 Santa Fe Fiesta Court. She was a 1998 graduate of Santa Fe High School and went on to receive an Associate Degree in Business from the Santa Fe Community College. Jackie worked in all levels of government from Santa Fe County, the City of Santa Fe to the State of New Mexico. She had a special place in her heart for her work families and was always willing to go above and beyond. She loved floral design and created exquisite arrangements for friends and family. Jackie helped the Santa Fe Animal Shelter by serving as a foster parent to the many kittens in need of care and love as they waited for their forever home.
At the top of all this, her greatest joy was her two children, Samantha and Patrick. Her love for them was the constant beacon of light that shone the brightest. In lieu of flowers, her family respectfully requests donations to be made to an educational fund for Samantha and Patrick. GoFundMe link: www.gf.me/u/xia3xd
