James Gregory Stevenson

James Gregory Stevenson of Santa Fe, NM, died in his home on December 4, 2024.

 ‘Greg’ was born in Zaragoza, Spain in 1959. He was one of five children in a military family. Greg dearly loved his immediate family, abundant relatives, and many friends throughout his life

.He was raised in Tucson, Arizona where he attended primary, middle, and high school. Greg was a college student and attended Arizona State University, where he was inducted into the Kappa Kappa Psi Honorary Band Fraternity. He embraced music and played several wind instruments which included the clarinet, base clarinet, and flute. He enjoyed being in concerts, marching bands throughout his youth.

Greg also played many sports, track, wrestling and football. Greg participated as a coach at Arizona State University for incoming freshman for the track team. He was a lifetime patron of the Green Bay Packers. Greg would always boast about the Green Bay Packers winning Super Bowl number XXXI no matter what the Green Bay Packers record was through their seasons.

 Greg other passions were theater and horses. His love for theater involved working on sound design as well as taking center stage in numerous performances while living in CA, and NM. His love for horses and acting gave him the opportunity to work as an extra in movies when living in CA and NM. Greg also participated in other equestrian events. He was an intelligent, friendly and loving person that loved to laugh and had a great sense of dry humor!

Greg is survived by his brother Richard E. Stevenson, (wife Lorretta),sister, Wanda L. Goldammer, sister, Debra J. Stevenson, a loving former wife Karin P. Stevenson and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews and nieces from multi generations. Greg will always be cherished by his extensive family and his community of friends at Christian Life Church.

The celebration of Greg’s life and interment will be a private family affair in Tucson, Arizona and announced at a later date.
