February 21, 1958–June 1, 2024
James (Jim) Campbell Breslin passed away on Saturday, June 1, at his home in El Prado, NM. He died peacefully surrounded by his close family after a brief but fierce battle with cancer.
Jim’s family was the most important thing in his life, along with an enthusiasm for the outdoors, good food, and spending quality time with friends. He was full of positivity and humor. He loved any day spent in a garden, by a lake, or on a river.
An avid potter and rug connoisseur, Jim loved to cook, listen to great music, and enjoy the views of Taos Mountain from his front patio garden at his home where he lived for the past six years with his partner, Tim Mercer.
He is also survived by his daughters Kyleen Breslin of Bozeman, MT and Kate Breslin of Colorado Springs, CO; their partners Bill McKenney and Tyrel Dixon; his former wife Lisa Breslin of Westminster, MD; his mother Margaret Breslin of Blairsville, GA; his sisters Donna Ryan of Blairsville and Maureen Butler of Spotsylvania, VA; his brothers Danny Breslin of Powhatan, VA and Michael Breslin of Scranton, PA; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and in-laws. Countless friends consider Jim family, and they share in remembering him for his zest for the best in life.
Jim was buried at La Puerta Natural Burial Grounds near Belen, NM on June 6.
A Celebration Gathering in his honor will be held at his home in El Prado on July 6 at 1:30 p.m. All friends and family are welcome to bring their favorite “Jim” story to share. Please consider donations to the American Cancer Society in lieu of flowers or other gifts.
