James Prunty

James Gordon Prunty born in Kansas City, MO on February 23, 1941 passed in peace at the age of 82 on Wednesday March 15, 2023. Preceded in death by his husband, Eugene Louis Van Natta.  Jay is survived by his sister Christine McGlothlin and husband Jerry, his son Louie Jimenez, nephew Christopher Kirchner and relatives and friends.  Jay will be fondly remembered by family and friends as a loving person who had a passion in helping others.  In his retirement he was a devoted volunteer member at the Stray Hearts Taos Animal Shelter, Taos Chamber of Commerce and Democratic Party at the Taos office.  He very much enjoyed reading, cooking and caring for his dog "Lucky".  Special thanks to the doctors and nurses at the Taos Health Care Center who provided invaluable care to Jay.  Friends are invited to share their memories of Jay with his family during the visitation and service which will be held at the Rivera Family Funeral Home in Taos, New Mexico on Friday 03/31/2023 from 11am to 12pm.  With burial to follow at the State Veterans Cemetery Angel Fire New Mexico.
