James Ronnie Salazar age 59 of Espanola died peacefully on Tuesday March 23, 2010 in Albuquerque, NM. He was a U.S. Army veteran with the 173rd Airborne Division in Vietnam,and a former corrections officer in Santa Fe during the riots. He was preceded in death by his father Jose Guadalupe Salazar and mother Teresita V. Jaramillo, sister Melissa Salazar, stepfather Fermin Jaramillo, uncles Ramon Salazar, Phil Salazar, Tim Salazar and Johnny Block, and cousin Ernest Salazar. He is survived by his daughter Lydia Salazar and companion Michael Eustice and Lydias' mother and James' former wife; Delphie Muniz-Salazar. He is also survived by brothers; Samuel Andrew Salazar and companion Angie Vigil of Alcalde, Michael Harold Salazar of Espanola, Joey Salazar and wife Marina of Albuquerque, Peter Salazar and wife Carol of Espanola, Jake Salazar and wife Dolly of Albuquerque, Larry Salazar and wife Debbie of Espanola, sisters; Marion Diaz and husband Phil of Espanola and Jeanette Green and husband Greg of Espanola, stepmother Mela Salazar, very close Aunt Rosina Salazar of Espanola, aunts and uncles; Alice Sandoval and husband Juan, David Salazar and wife Sylvia, Arthur Salazar, Sarah Martinez and husband Manuel, Alberta Salazar, Mary Gallegos and husband Andres, Connie Thompson, Eloisa Block, Bennie Salazar and Angie Salazar as well as many nieces & nephews and other relatives. There will be no public visitation, the recitation of the rosary will be on Sunday March 28th at 7:00 p.m. at Rivera Family Funeral Home in Espanola. The mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Monday at 9:00 a.m. at The Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Espanola with interment to take place at 1:00 p.m. at The Santa Fe National Cemetery with military honors.
