Jane Gallegos

Juanita (Jane) Elizabeth Gallegos age 45 of Chama, NM. went to rest in peace with our Dear Lord on April 11, 2009. Jane died surrounded by her family after her courageous fight against breast cancer. Jane was an avid Dallas Cowboy fan (win or lose) who loved Country music and believed and felt very strong in her small town beliefs. Jane was a friend to everyone that she met and was willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. Jane was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents Juanita and Eliseo Gallegos and her maternal grandfather Eduardo Mercure, Aunt Gloria Mercure and cousins VR Martinez and Liz Scott. She is survived by her parents Jose (Ralph) and April Gallegos, grandmother Floripe Mercure, sisters; Sarah Gallegos and friend Pete, Faye Anderson and husband Allen, Lora Lopez and husband Eric, brothers; Cheo Gallegos and wife Cathy, Juan Vigil and wife Michelle and Edward Mercure, nephews; AJ Osuna, Andrew Anderson and Gabriel Sierra, nieces; Afften Hathcock and husband Mark, Jenna Osuna, Gabrielle Gallegos, Briana and DeAna Lopez, Mia Vigil, Zita Mercure and companion Robert Abeyta and Mia Mercure, great nieces; Allison and Kashlyn Hathcock, and Autumn Abeyta, great-nephews; Kyros Hathcock and Amos Pacheco, aunts; Ercilia Mercure, Virginia Mercure, Chrisanta Martinez and husband Virginio, Dee Cordova and husband Jerry, Farley Montoya and husband Bob, Ruffie Sandoval and husband Levi and Rose Martinez, uncles; Onil Mercure, Mike Mercure and wife Annie, Vicente Mercure and wife Baudelia, Delfin Mercure and wife Sylvia, and Robert Mercure, Godson Antonio Martinez, Special friends Alice Nuno, Patsy Gallegos, Josie Maestas, Melly Gallegos, Fran Cowell and Albert Gonzalez. Jane was blessed with numerous other relatives and friends that she held dear in her heart. Recitation of the rosary will be held on Tuesday April 14th at 7:00 PM at San Jose Catholic Church in Los Ojos, with the mass of Christian burial being celebrated on Wednesday at 10:00 also at the same church, with interment to follow at tha Los Ojos Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be: Edward and Marvin Mercure, Jesus and Santiago Martinez, Daniel Gonzalez and Albert Gonzales.
