The life of Janetta Gill Gorsich was remembered and celebrated on April 7, 2010, att The Community House in Red River, NM. Ed Hampton, pastor of Faith Mountain Fellowship Church officiated. He, along with several others that have been asked, or feel moved to volunteer, will attempt to present and lay to rest one of Gods most precious gifts as she passes on to the next world to be joined eternally with her beloved son, Will.
Janetta was born in 1959 in Odessa, TX to Bill and Annette Gill, residents of Red River for over 40 years. Janetta and her husband, Steve, were married in Red River in 1981 where they remained to live, work, raise a family and be one of that small communitys most loved and respected residents. Their two children, Will and Jamie, were born in 1983 and 1986. Will preceded Janetta in death in 2004.
Born Janetta Pauli Gill, she nurtured and supported a strong feeling of belonging to a very close family that gets together at every opportunity. That sense likely began at birth as she was named for both her grandmothers and a great grandmother. Jane Gill Canon was her fathers mother, Annetta McCown Jolley was her great grandmother on her mothers side and Pauline Morgan was her mothers mother.
Janettas passion for Northern New Mexico was contagious and evident to many who purchased property from her for many years as a licensed Realtor. She also had a deep love for all the music produced and performed locally in Red River. She was extremely generous as a mother, daughter, sister and friend. Having a good time was always important and, since she grew up in the service industry, Janetta had an affinity for those that served the public. Waiters loved her because she always tipped well and made a point to comment on whatever they had served her as being the best she ever had.
Janetta is survived by her husband, daughter, parents, two brothers and a sister: Ralph and wife Debra Gill from Fort Worth, TX; Rik Gill from Eagle Nest, NM; and Nancigail and husband Troy Miller from San Marcos, TX. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and other in-laws as well as aunts, uncles, cousins and countless friends all across the United States that have expressed their love for this wonderful angel that they had the pleasure of knowing all too briefly.
The family requests for those whose hearts are moved to make a donation in Janettas name to give to Red Rivers Emergency Medical Services team, care of P.O. Box 1020, Red River, NM 87558.
