Jason A. Smith

Jason A. Smith of Santa Fe, NM was called home on December 20, 2015. He was born to Annette Chavez and Michael Smith on March 20, 1975 in Los Alamos, New Mexico. He movied to Santa Fe at 7 years old with his mother Annette C. Aragon and his stepfateher John A. Aragon. He resided at the family compound on Barela Lane at the time of his death. Jason loved life. He was an avid athlete in his early years, especially excelling in wrestling, baseball and dirt biking. He lived for and sought excitement all of his life. When he was a young adult, Jason had a brain surgery to remove a tumor, and he had a subsequent accident and coma that he reemerged from alive. After he re-learned to eat, speak and walk, we were left with a new, different version of our precious Jason. We had him to love and to love us for another several years until December 20, 2015. Jason is survived by his paternal grandparents Don Smith and Eileen Hamburger of Oklahoma, maternal grandparents Pascual and Margaret Chavez of Los Alamos, mother Annette C. Aragon, stepfather John A. Aragon, father Michael E. Smith, sister Jenna Honeycut, sister Andrea Aragon, brother Marcelo Aragon and many aunts, uncles and cousins. Services will be held Monday, January 11, 2016 at Santa Maria De La Paz Catholic Community, 11 College Ave., Santa Fe, NM 87508. The rosary commences at 9:00 a.m. followed by mass at 10:00 a.m. then the reception in the church parish hall.
