Jeffery A. Herrera

1963 — December 27, 2024

Jeffery "Jefe" A. Herrera, 61, of Red River, NM, passed away on December 27, 2024. Born and raised in Denver, CO, Jeff moved to Red River in 2001, where he quickly became a beloved part of the community, known for his larger-than-life personality. A devoted Denver Broncos fan, champion soccer player, and darts enthusiast, Jeff could strike up a lively sports conversation with anyone. His iconic "Trump shirt," showcasing his admiration for Donald Trump, brought both laughter and spirited debates.

Jeff was a masterful storyteller, jokester, and prankster, always keeping friends on their toes with his playful antics and mischievous sense of humor. He loved entertaining others with tales of riches and collectibles. He especially cherished Red River’s Motorcycle Rally and never missed a chance to add a Harley Davidson T-shirt to his collection.

Over the years, Jeff worked in various roles but found the most fulfillment in caring for others and being a loyal friend. He was born on January 10, 1963, to Jack and Odila Herrera. He was preceded in death by his father, Jack, and his brother, Scott. Jeff is survived by his daughter, Tonya R. Jury; his granddaughter, Murphy R. Jury; his mother, Odila; his sisters, Jackie, Myra, and Lynn; and numerous beloved nieces and nephews.

Jeff’s vibrant personality and warm spirit will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
