Jeffery Alan Conley

May 18, 1972 — May 27, 2020

Jeffery Alan Conley was born May 18, 1972 in Ohio. He is preceded in death by his parents Jerry Gene Conley and Bonnie May Conley.

He is survived by his sons Benjamin Vargas-Conley and Liam Vargas-Conley, his older brothers Dean and Dave Conley, a grandmother Emma Conley, many nieces and nephews to include Ernesto and Isabel Vargas, Raymond Conley, and many friends from the NM National Guard and his connections with Santa Fe. He is also survived by his sisters; Debra Conley, Donna Cuenca, Darla Conley and Kimberly Coronado all from Bryan, Ohio.

He joined the Army in 1990 and was medically retired in 2015. He was an Infantryman and a Recruiting and Retention NCO. During his military career he deployed twice, once to Afghanistan and then to Iraq.  His awards and decorations include: Joint Service Commendation medal w/ Valor, Joint Service Commendation medal, Army Achievement Medal (6th award), Army Good Conduct medal, National Defense Service Medal w/Bronze service star, National Defense Service Medal (2nd award), Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal, w/ Campaign Star, Army Service Ribbon, overseas Service Ribbon, Armed Forces Reserve Medal w/ M Device (2nd award), the CIB, the Master Recruiting Badge, the Schutzenschnur award (Silver) awarded for marksmanship, held an Army expert marksmanship Badge.

After military service, he co-owned a successful realty firm in Santa Fe and was an Associate Broker and Realtor. He loved his sons and was a devoted and caring father. In life he loved traveling, trying new things, hunting and living life. He was taken too soon due to cancer but left a lasting legacy for his sons.  He will be greatly missed. No one can replace a father, but he showed his love for his sons, valued the time given and shared in many memories and lessons.
