Jeff Maestas, 49, peacefully passed away at home surrounded by family after a lengthy battle with cancer. He touched the lives of many people. He was a cherished and beloved brother, uncle, and friend, who will be immensely missed.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Tillie and Henry Maestas.
Jeff is survived by brothers Robert; Sam and Gloria Vigil; Larry and wife Debbie; Godson Christopher, Goddaughter Samantha; Nieces and Nephews: Megan and her husband Sharif Seret, Stephen, his wife Alyssa and son Stephen, Joshua Tredway, his wife Mallory, and son Maverick, Kimberly, her husband Jon Dutton and son William; close friends Tom Brooks, Keith Garcia, Alyssandra Garcia and her son Micah Armijo, and other close extended family and friends.
The youngest of four brothers, Jeff was the person everyone turned to for a kind ear, healing hand, and warm embrace. He gave selflessly, fully and with all his love. He served in the United States Air Force for 6 years as a systems mechanic. He worked with the City of Santa Fe for 25 years, retiring last year. He has many wonderful memories of his time with the City and the friendships he built there.
He would like to not only thank those who cared for him while he was ill, but also those who helped along the way of life. He will forever be close in our hearts.
