Jerome Coriz

October 7, 1966 — August 31, 2024

Jerome Anthony Coriz

Jerome was called to be with Our Lord Saturday, August 31, 2024. He was born and raised in Santa Fe, New Mexico and graduated from Santa Fe High School. After graduation, he began his career with the State of New Mexico State Printing Bureau where he retired after completing 25 years of service. He enjoyed travelling, especially visiting Disneyland and Las Vegas, Nevada finding items to add to his collections of Mickey Mouse, M&M’s, and Smurfs along the way. He enjoyed music and attended many concerts, his favorites being Cher and Shania Twain. You could often find him shopping from one end of town to the other, however he also enjoyed being home spending time with and spoiling his dog. While home, he enjoyed cooking and baking all types of desserts, those most loved by his family were his cream puffs and biscochitos. He enjoyed the holiday season which he would kick off by watching Zozobra with his family.

Family was important to him and was willing to do anything for those he loved. He spent his life cherishing the memories of his parents. Like his parents he was extremely dependable, thoughtful, and compassionate. While we will miss everything about him, we will especially miss his laughter, his smile, and his beautiful blue-green eyes.

He is preceded in death by his parents Ramon and Mollie Coriz, brother Henry Coriz, and nieces Stephanie and Denise Coriz. He is survived by his beloved dog Dolce; siblings Ernestine (Tina) and husband Robert (Bobby) Rael, Marian Coriz and husband James Payne, Robert and wife Kelly Coriz, and Arlene Coriz; sister-in-law Yvonne Coriz, nieces and nephews Danny, Jessica, Laurie, and Justin Rael, Danielle Varela, David, Michael, and Christopher Payne, Christa Romero, Jordan, Mollie, and Sean Coriz, and numerous great nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Tuesday September 10, 2024, from 5pm-6pm at Rivera’s Family Funerals and Cremations Kiva Chapel followed by a rosary to be recited at 6pm. Catholic services to be celebrated at 11am at Our Lady of Guadalupe Parrish on Wednesday September 11, 2024. Interment will follow at Rosario Cemetery.
