It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Jerry A. Sanchez. 

A longtime resident of Santa Fe, NM, Jerry passed away on May 21, 2024.   He was born on September 11, 1943 in Santa Fe, NM.

He is preceded in death by his parents Fidel and Reynalda (Bernie) Sanchez, wife Cora Lee, and brothers, Fidel (Fiddles), Leroy, and Frank.  

He is survived by his daughter, Dolores Archuleta (Charles); grandchildren: William Ryan and Julia Ryan; step-sons: Michael Morres, Gary Morres (Michelle), Darryn Phillips (Melissa); Sisters: Cecilia Ortiz (preceded by David) and Christine Sanchez-Warren (David); brothers: Joe Sanchez (Jennifer), Daniel Sanchez (Gloria) and Lee Sanchez, many nieces and nephews and numerous loved ones and extended family.

Jerry was employed as a Machinist in Manufacturing for several years with Douglas Aircraft Co. in Santa Monica, CA, and then returned home to Santa Fe to work and retire from United Centrifugal Pumps Inc. 

Family was the cornerstone of Jerry’s life.  His daughter and grandchildren were his pride and joy.  His friendship with others was also of great significance.  A true friend, always available for great conversation, and lending a hand.    

He will be remembered for his kindness, generosity, dependability, and admired for his strength and determination in everything he set his mind to.

Jerry will always be in our hearts and minds, including all of those who were fortunate to have known him.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, June 20, 2024 at 10:30 a.m. at Ascent Bible Church, 2076 Galisteo St., Santa Fe, NM.
