Dec. 21, 1979 - Mar. 12 2025 at the Age of 45.
Jesus Quintanilla (aka Jessie) was born on the afternoon of Dec. 21, 1979.
He was brought into this world by his mother, Sharon Lynn Quintanilla - deceased (2014) and, by her side, his father, Raphael Scott Quintanilla a long-time resident of Taos. Jesus was born in his parents’ home at 206 Joliet in San Antonio Texas, on December 21, 1979. Jesus was the 4th child of 6 boys: Pahana Scott Quintanilla -deceased (2018), David Wade Hill, Chan Kayum Quintanilla (Aka Ky), (Jesus Kachina Quintanilla) -deceased (2025), Joseph Thunder Quintanilla and Raphael Krishna Quintanilla -deceased (2012)
Jesus is survived by his 3 children: Oldest Girl, Kiara Oceana Iris Quintanilla (15yrs), Middle Girl, Anastasia Linnaya Estrella Quintanilla (13yrs), son Raphael Sean Thomas Quintanilla, (9yrs) and their mothers of his children Madelynna Martinez of Taos Pueblo and Tessa Marie Renee Shaw of Taos, NM.
Jesus had a very full life. He lived mostly in Northern, New Mexico. He attended El Rito Elementary as a child, in El Rito NM, McCurdy High School in Espanola, as a young adult and later received an Associates of Art Degree at UNM Taos as well as completing, many more college credits at Highlands University in Las Vegas NM.
Early in his life, Jesus partnered with his younger brother, Raphael Quintanilla and ran his own local Taos Business named: RockSolid Tile and Stone. Jesus supported his family by working in multiple restaurants in and around the Taos area. These restaurants included, Lamberts of Taos, Ronnie Lees, Koyote Club, and Antonio‘s among others (not mentioned). One of the last restaurants Jesus worked at was The Trading Post Market. He worked with his older brother, Ky Quintanilla (who owns the Trading Post, in Ranchos De Taos). Among other responsibilities, Jesus was in charge of running their well-known pizza line which became, and still is, a local favorite of Taos.
Jesus loved to be outdoors. Some of the biggest smiles he had were when he was on an open lake, going full throttle on a well tuned Jet ski or catching the next wave in a vast ocean, riding it into a beautiful Mexico beach.
One of Jesus's biggest gifts to the world and his family was his ability to smile and light up the room.
Jesus was a very charismatic, happy go lucky, and just an overall great Son, Brother, Dad, and Friend to many, whom he loved with his huge heart. The biggest loves of his life, were, no doubt, his children. He would not miss a night without calling his children through his group Snapchat tag no matter where they were or where he was….and just before bed, the call would not end, until he checked in on their day and with him leading his ‘Papaws’ prayer: “God Bless You, Keep you Strong Mentally and physically, And protect you every hour, of every day of every night, Amen.”
Jesus Kachina Quintanilla, you'll be deeply missed. May we all find peace and comfort in knowing you have moved on to a better place.
Funeral services will begin at the Rivera Funeral Home and then will continue to the burial site, where his body will be laid to rest, on Sunday March 30 at 11:45AM.
