Joann Kay Sterrett

Joann Kay Sterrett born on the 12th of January 1942 in her parents home, passed away on November 1, 2024. Joann was the third born child of Roy and Ina Ratliff. As a child, she stayed exceptionally active in horse shows and a was a proud member of the Santa Fe Horse Show Association.

 Joann married John Sterrett in 1961 with whom she shared three children, Tracy, Rob and Kelly. 

 Joann then started her journey building a lifelong career in banking. She moved on to venture into her new business with her husband, John, and began working in the Automatic Food Service.

 She then returned to banking, to which she dedicated many years of her life until she retired.

 In her retirement, Joann spent her days traveling the country with her friends and family. From Alaska to Florida, Joann reveled in the adventures she came across along the way.

 Joann loved to fish and go camping at her property in Heron Lake. Many weekends were spent with close friends and family sharing stories and creating new ones.

 Joann took pride in the life she had built. Her neighbors became friends, her friends became family and her family was ever-growing.

 She was overjoyed to welcome into the world her first great grandchild, Kayson John in 2018, with whom she loved to play games with and share memories.

 The joy she brought into this world will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She is preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Ina Ratliff, her siblings, Norbert, Betty and Linda, and her husband John. She is survived by her children, Tracy (Joe), Rob, Kelly (Kenny), her grandchildren, Jolee, Ina and Derek, her great grandson, Kayson John, nieces Wendy Bailey (Robert) and Debbie Slaughter, and her beloved cat, Alfredo.

 Her services will be held Friday, November 15 at 10 am at Rivera Funeral Home on Rodeo Road in Santa Fe, NM.
