Joann Garcia Chavez

JoAnn Garcia Chavez, 62, a resident of San Ildefonso passed away on November 26, 2015. She was born June 19, 1953, San Ildefonso, NM to Juan Felipe and Beronis Garcia. She was preceded in death by her parents, Juan Felipe and Beronis Garcia of San Ildefonso,NM, sister, Rafaelita Guajardo, of Altus, OK, and many other relatives. JoAnn is survived by her husband, Arnold Chavez, brothers Robert Garcia and wife, Mary Alice, of Española, NM, Raymond Baros, of Jacona, NM, and nephew Tom Garcia, whom she loved like a son and companion Anna, of San Ildefonso. Brother-in-law, Johnny Guajardo, of Altus, OK. Many nephews, nieces, cousins, and Arnold’s family. JoAnn worked as a leather seamstress for many years at CHAR. Then she went to work at Jake’s Dirty Laundry in Pojoaque. Rosary was recited on Saturday, November 28th at the San Ildefonso Catholic Church. Funeral Mass was on Monday, November 30th also at the San Ildefonso Church. Honorary pallbearers, Reyes Chavez, Fernando Chavez, Antonio Garcia, Robbie Garcia, Gina Garcia, Ramon Baros, Delberta Baros, Bobby Krikorian, Geri Janz and all her great nephews and nieces. JoAnn’s family wishes to thank Christy Bradshaw from LAVNS for all your help and acknowledge with heartfelt appreciation your kind expression of sympathy during this difficult time.
