Joaquina Wilson

November 7, 1934 — November 4, 2023

With heavy hearts the family of Joaquina Lynn Wilson announces her passing. She was born November 7, 1934 at Spring Creek near Mountain View Oklahoma. She graduated from Mountain View High School and met Charles Wilson on a blind date. Charlie was stationed at Fort Sill in Oklahoma at the time. They wed shortly after and began a life in Santa Fe. Together they raised 4 sons. She stayed home and tended to the home and family, while Charlie continued to work as a partner with Wilson Transfer and Storage. She was a founding member of the Casa Alegre Garden Club. She was a "room mother" at Salazar Elementary. She and Charlie were members of The Rounders square dancing group. She made beautiful wedding cakes and raised canaries.              She was also a talented seamstress. She had numerous hobbies including making porcelain faced dolls and flower arranging. During their retirement they joined an RV Club and traveled throughout the United States. After Charlie passed in 2009, she continued tending to her home until she began her residence at Vista Hermosa Retirement Community. She passed the afternoon of November 4, 2023. 3 days short of her 89th birthday. Remember her with fondness for her kindness, generosity, love of gardening and love of the color pink.

We are grateful and would like to Thank Carrie Katco for her unwavering friendship and the caregivers of Vista Hermosa for their loving care of our mother.
