He is preceded in death by his father, Joe Alex Maestas Sr, grandparents, Andres & Eloisa Maestas and Luis & Amelia Maestas, uncles, Ralph and Orlando Maestas, Joe Romero and David Vigil, aunts, Willie Romero, Dorothy Maestas and Effie Wallace, granddaughter, Rachel Maestas, nephew and godson, Nathaniel (Kics) Maestas, nephews, Albert Trujillo and Baby Manuel Maestas, father in law, Rudy Montoya, mother in law, Dolores Jackson, grandparents in law, Frances Granny Aranda, Joe & Martha Montoya, god parents, Cecionita and Fidel Candelaria. He is survived by wife of 27 years, Debbie A. Maestas, mother, Josie Maestas, children, Abby R. Maestas (Luis), Neil Maestas (Cleo), Christopher Maestas (Maribel), grandchildren, Juan, Tommy, Marlette, Matthew, Cynthia, Elizabeth, Patrick, Angel, Serriah, Samantha, Mia, Baby Chris, great grandchildren, Dinay and Aubrianna. Rosary was recited on April 9, 2012. Funeral mass was held on April 10, 2012. Both services were held at San Francisco de Asis Catholic Church, with interment at the Santa Fe National Cemetery will full military honors.
