Joe Benito Sanchez (el Plomero) of Chamisal, N.M. was born on July 20, 1927 in Lyden, N.M. passed away in the home on February 26, 2007 after a long illness. He was preceded in death by his son, Joe Benito Sanchez Jr.; daughter Benita Sanchez; father Federico Sanchez; sister, Josefina Lujan and brothers, Juan Gilbert; Nelson and Victor Sanchez and brother-in-law, Lalo Rivera. He is survived by his wife Mary Alcarita Sanchez of the home, mother Eliza Sanchez of Lyden, N.M. mother-in-law, Juanita Garcia of Chamisal, N.M. Daughters, Becky Fernandez (Eddie) of Española; N.M., Eutimia Visarraga (Wayne) of Peñasco and Victoria Sanchez of Española. Sons, Arturo Sanchez of Dover, DE; Rudy Sanchez and Federico Sanchez (Mary Lou) of Chamisal, N.M. Grandsons, Louis Fernandez of Española, N.M.; Alex (Desiree) of San Diego, CA, Christopher Visarraga of Peñasco, N.M. and Amadeus Sanchez of Dover, Deleware; Granddaughters, Melissa Romero of Albuquerque, N.M.; Edwardine (like a daughter) and Matilda Fernandez of Espanola, N.M. Amanda Sanchez of Grants, N.M., Athena; Chenoa and Anja Sanchez of Chamisal, N.M. and Keioma Visarraga of Peñasco, N.M. Sisters, Lydia Rivera of Santa Fe, N.M., Stella Carter of Austin, TX, Bertha Ulibarri (Alfonso) of Santa Fe, N.M. and Rita Sanchez of Lyden, N.M. Brothers, James Sanchez (Maria Teresa) of Albuquerque, N.M. and Isidoro Sanchez (Celina) of Pecos, NM. Brothers-in-law, Max Garcia (Sandy) of Chamisal, N.M. and Ben Lujan of Lyden, N.M. Eight great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. A rosary will be recited on Wednesday, February 28, 2007 at 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Block-Salazar Mortuary. A second rosary will be recited on Thursday, March 1, 2007 at 7:00 p.m. at the San Antonio Catholic Church in Peñasco. Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated on Friday, March 2, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. at the San Antonio Catholic Church in Peñasco with father Mark Schultz officiating.
