Joe “Broadway” Salazar Joe “Broadway” Salazar 56 went to be with our Lord peacefully in his sleep December 2, 2017, in his home in Rio Rancho, NM. He was born and raised in San Francisco, CA on July 12, 1961 to Cora Martinez Salazar and Jose Salazar. He married Debra A. Archuleta on May 27, 2017 in Albuquerque, NM. He is preceded in death by his parents Jose M. Salazar and Cora Martinez Salazar. He is survived by His “mi quierda” and wife of six months Debra A. Archuleta now of Rio Rancho, his children Joey Fernandez of Chimayo, Diondra Salazar of Espanola, Daniel, Steven, and Alyssa Salazar of Hayward, CA. Sister Beverly Archuleta and nephew Jaime Archuleta of Rio Rancho. In-laws Harold C. and Vangie Archuleta of Rio Rancho and Mrs. Connie R. Kinsey (his momma) of Santa Fe. Sister-in-law Audrey Archuleta of Chili, brother-in-law Carl Archuleta (Mary Ann) of Santa Fe, and two wonderful nieces-in-law Lucrece Borrego of Tesuque and Amy Archuleta of Tacoma, WA. At the age 10 his mother moved her children back to her hometown of Espanola. Joe was a proud Army veteran having joined via the delayed entry program after high school. He again proudly re-enlisted at age 45 with the California Army National Guard having served in Iraq returning a wounded warrior. Joe was a journeyman welder by trade utilizing his skills at Sandia National Lab. Joe was a member of the Espanola Fraternal Order of Eagles, loved his San Francisco 49ers and Giants, and he wrote a daily and evening Christian blog on Facebook that touched so many lives with his inspirational words of God’s love and hope. His dream was to be a pastor of his own church. He was full of life and loved everyone around him and his inspiration will be greatly missed! HONORARY PALLBEARS: Johnny Valdez, Yvette J. Martinez, Steven Jaramillo, Patrick Jaramillo, Josie Valdez, Rebecca Valdez-Money, Donnamae Valdez, Danny Valdez, Marlette Martinez, Nick and Jesse Quintana. Wake will be held on Sunday December 10, 2017 from 4:00-7:00pm at the Kiva Chapel of Light Funeral Service will be held on Monday , December 11, 2017 at 10:00am at the Kiva Chapel of Light. Internment at a later date.
