JOE H. SILVA, 1/7/1934 to 1/15/2019 born in Santa Fe to parents David A. Silva and Rosarito Marquez. Joe was preceded in death by his wife of 42 years, Peggy J. Silva who passed on 10/3/2017. Joe is survived by his siblings; Manuel Silva and wife Coco and Loretta Laret of California and Lupe Gonzales and husband Donald of Santa Fe. He is also survived by his two sons, Joe of Albuquerque and Anthony and Lynett and their children Sydney and Gabriel of Maine. After completing high school, Joe served honorably in the US Army, Korean War era. Following his military service he began his 27-year career with the Highway Department in Road Design. Joe truly loved his work at the State Highway Building in Santa Fe and made many life-long friends. Following his retirement he worked several years for an Engineering Firm until his final retirement from doing the work he loved. Joe had many passions including tennis, woodworking, chess and fishing. He was extremely dedicated throughout his marriage to his wife Peggy and he adored their many pets that he and Peggy had over their years together. Joe and Peggy resided in Tesuque for most of their time together and he was involved in their beloved community for many years, and in many ways. Joe will be sorely missed by his children and grandchildren and remaining family and friends. Joe’s quick wit and unique sense of humor will certainly be missed. Joe’s final wishes were for a private service. The family has asked that in lieu of flowers contributions can be made to Animal Humane NM,
